Gentetz was born in Japan in 1975 and studied recording and engineering at college in Shinjuku, Tokyo. 1994 saw him making music using an eight track so he could hear his sounds played loud in a club. After a couple of years he developed a serious addiction to sampling vinyl and making beats on his MPC, digging the sounds coming from Tokyo, New York and London. In 1998 a Ninja-tune event opened his consciousness to overseas sounds. Year 2000 and his friends introduced him to Rave for the first time, From there on he started beating electronic drums, shifting sideways to dance music, phat beats and the polyrhythms of african drums...
